the shrine of the book.....

it is no accident that the knesset is in the background. the shrine is one of the most interesting museums that Ive ever been to. the underground building houses both the dead sea scrolls of the Qumran, and the Aleppo codex. some of the original Hebrew writings in the dead sea scrolls led to the creation of both Christianity and Islam. marinate on that for a little.

this picture is with israeli friends of my mom. they lived in Boston back in the day which is how they met. at the time yoel, on the far left, and i were just babies. my mom somehow produced countless photos of us. it was really nice to see them (or meet them, as i dont recall my early days). they brought us to a small kosher restaurant in Jerusalem that was incredible. i have never had hummus or baba ganoush before this dinner. the lamb chops and wine were also very good.....

this evening i ARRIVED in Tel Aviv... the next few weeks hold great promise.....

Josh!
Great to see you in the photos, (with the drum) and read the details of your adventure. Sounds like an amazing trip, enlightening, and nice to see your Mom.
Judd and Jonathan are taking Moniek (my visiting Dutch cousin) to a bbq with all of your friends this afternoon and then to a club for a concert organized by Judd! I'm happy she is meeting some people and even when you are not here your presence is being felt and appreciated.
Enjoy the rest of your trip and stay safe.
Love AJ and Albert
